28th Annual Newmarket Voice Festival SyllabusMusical Theatre ClassesNOTE: All songs should be age-appropriate. Style and lyric content should be suitable for ALL age levels and audiences. Vocal Solo - Contemporary Musical Theatre – Ballad (1975 To Present) Entry Fee $35 Selection must be a contemporary musical theatre ballad from a staged musical. Songs that originally appeared in a movie (ie. Disney), tv show/series, Netflix, etc., should be entered in the Songs From The Screen And More category. Music may be transposed to suit the participant’s range. Costumes are allowed but not necessary. One stage prop and one hand prop are permitted as long as no set-up is required. NEW: Singers may enter this category multiple times with repertoire that has not previously been performed at the Festival, but a separate entry and fee is required for each song.
